Things to Do
Enjoy relaxing in your log cabin, soaking in the hot tub and taking in the breath taking scenery from the doorstep. However if you are after a more active break then you’ll find Glenbeag Mountain Lodges are in a perfect location to explore the Scottish countryside from, tour nearby towns, castles etc or head for a serious walk up a munro from the front door.
Situated on a hillside at the meeting of four glens within the Cairngorm National Park, the cabins are a good central base to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities including walking, skiing / snowboarding, mountain biking and golfing. Local business’s provide the opportunity for outdoor adventure and field sport pursuits as well.
Tour Royal Deeside from Glenshee on the A93, the highest main road in Britain, once one of the most notorious, with the feared Devil’s Elbow and its 1 in 3 gradient. At the top you find Glenshee Ski Centre, located just 6 miles away from the cabins.

Walking
A range of high and low level walks start from the log cabins. From the Cateran Trail to Glas Tulaichean (nearest munro) to scenic gentle rambles, something for everyone.
The Cateran Trail
Is a circular (64 mile) walking trail following the paths used by the 15th century cattle rustlers (caterans). This walking route comes past the log cabins at the Spittal of Glenshee.
Touring Routes
Tour Royal Deeside to the north through the Cairngorm National Park or head south to the rolling countryside of Perthshire and the Angus Glens. A great central location.
Ski & Snowboard
The Glenshee Ski Centre, Britain’s largest snowsports area with 22 lifts and 36 runs is just 6 miles away from the log cabins. Ski/Board Hire and Instruction is available locally.
Golf
Dalmunzie Golf Course is right next door, a scenic 9 hole course, one of the highest in Britain. Other nearby courses include the famous Rosemount Course at Blairgowrie.
Pubs & Hotels
Dalmunzie Castle Hotel is next door, up a 1.5 mile driveway. Otherwise there is a good local choice of pubs around us in nearby towns, all approx 20 mins drive away.
Biking
Mountain bike from the cabin door and road cycle on the scenic A93 and back roads. In summer Glenshee Ski Centre runs a mountain bike track accessible by chairlift.
Castles & Historic Houses
The small and nearby Braemar Castle is just over the hill. Other renowned sights approx 1 hours drive away include: Balmoral, Glamis, Blair Castle and Scone Palace.
The Cairngorm National Park
The cabins are located in this Britain’s largest National Park. It’s a living, working, wild landscape with an unrivalled range of outdoor attractions and activities.
