Enjoy
abundant breathtaking scenery from the doorstep or take in the new Cairngorm
National Park. Various munro's are within easy reach for the serious hiker
whilst the less energetic can simply admire the abundance of flora and fauna
which adorns the hillsides on the many gentle rambles in the area. Tennis
and Mountain Biking are available locally. Fishing for brown trout and salmon
is available on local Lochs and on the waters of the River Shee, Blackwater,
Ericht and Glenlochsie Burn. In the neighbouring glen of Glenisla you'll
find pony trekking, a health spa and water fun on a purpose built loch. |

Glenshee is an ideal touring base for Royal Deeside with the Queens special retreat at Balmoral Castle open to visitors when the Royals are not in residence. Steep yourself in history and visit Dunkeld ( ancient capital of Scotland) or one of the many well known castles in the area including Blair, Glamis and Scone Palace, all within one hour's drive. |

| Attractions: Visit the interesting towns of Pitlochry and Braemar with their woollen shops and souvenirs. Follow the whisky trail beginning with Edradour the smallest distillery in Scotland, located outside Pitlochry to Dalwhinnie and Lochnagar in the North. Place the first Sunday of September in your diary for a visit to the Braemar Highland Games and enjoy the tug of war, tossing the caber and Scottish dancing alongside the Royal Party. |

Other attractive courses nearby include: Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne, Pitlochry, Kirriemuir, Blairgowrie ( Rosemount and Lansdowne) and Alyth, all within 45 minutes drive. Championship courses at Carnoustie, St Andrews and Gleneagles are located to the south, one hour away. |
